Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has given a notification for the recruitment of Non-Teaching (Curator, Professional Assistant, Semi Professional Assistant, Library Assistant & Other) Vacancy. • Last Date for Online Submission of Application Form and Application Fee Payment:
  04.03.2024, up to 5:00 p.m.
• Last Date for Submission of Downloaded Application Form along with Enclosures:
  09.03.2024, up to 5:00 p.m.
• Application Fee:
  • Rs. 500/- for candidates of UR, EWS, and OBC categories for Group ‘B’ & ‘C’ Non-teaching.
  • No application fees for candidates of SC, ST, PwDs categories, and women candidates.
  • Payment through online mode: Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI.

Recruitment Details:

• Online Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for Non-teaching posts under Group ‘B’ & ‘C’ in the Library Sector at the University.

  • Submit downloaded hardcopy to the Office of the Registrar (Recruitment and Assessment Cell), Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – 221005.

Vacancy Details:

Qualifications:

1. Curator (Level-6):
   • Master’s Degree in History/AIHC/History of Arts with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
   • Minimum 2 years’ experience in preventive and curative conservation of manuscripts and rare documents.
   • Knowledge of Computers.
   • Age Limit: 35 years
2. Professional Assistant (Level-6):
   • Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science with minimum 55% marks and 2 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with 55% marks and 3 years’ experience.
   • Knowledge of Computer Applications.
   • Age Limit: 35 years
3. Semi Professional Assistant (Level-5):
   • Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science or Bachelor’s Degree with 55% marks and 2 years’ relevant experience.
   • Age Limit: 32 years
4. Library Assistant (Level-4):
   • Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science with 55% marks.
   • Typing speed of 30 words per minute in English.
   • Knowledge of Computer Applications.
   • Age Limit: 32 years

Note:

• Weightage of 4% marks for each year of service rendered by daily wages/contractual employees, up to a maximum ceiling of 20% marks in every criterion of assessment, will be allowed in non-teaching group ‘C’ positions on a regular basis, subject to eligibility conditions.
