CTET Eligibility Criteria for July 2024: Primary Level (Class I to V)
To be eligible for the CTET Primary Level examination (Class I to V) in July 2024, candidates must fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
CTET Eligibility Criteria for July 2024: Junior Level (Class VI to VIII)
For the CTET Junior Level examination (Class VI to VIII) in July 2024, candidates must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time.
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
Additionally, any candidate who has qualified for the B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in the TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines, a person pursuing any of the teacher education courses recognized by the NCTE or the RCI specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.
Candidates with Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and passed or appearing in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. are also eligible.
