UGC NET June 2024 Age Limit
JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 01.06.2024.
Assistant Professor/ Admission in Ph.D: No age limit.
Educational Qualification
- Master’s degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized university (list available at UGC Portal)
- Minimum marks required: General/Unreserved/EWS: 55%, OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender: 50%
- Final year Master’s students and Ph.D. holders with a Master’s completed before September 19th, 1991 get a 5% relaxation (50% marks eligibility).
Exam Format Summary
UGC NET 2024 will be OMR based, consisting of two papers without a break between them.
- Paper I (100 Marks, 50 Questions): Focuses on teaching and research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, thinking skills, and general awareness.
- Paper II (200 Marks, 100 Questions): Subject-specific, based on the chosen subject. Tests knowledge of the chosen field.
