Draupadi Murmu, The 15th President Of India

Draupadi Murmu has won the presidential election of India. She will be the 15th president, 2nd women president & 1st tribal woman to hold the post after taking oath. 64-year-old Murmu, the presidential candidate of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), was contesting against Yashwant Sinha of the opposition. The counting of votes took place on July 21.

President of India- The President of India is the head of state of India and the supreme commander of the Indian Armed Forces. The President is said to be the first citizen of India. Although vested with these powers by the Constitution of India, the position is largely a ceremonial one and the executive powers are actually exercised by the Prime Minister.
