University Grants Commission conducts the National Eligibility Test, popularly known as UGC NET twice a year. The Candidates who qualify UGC NET are eligible for lectureship. UGC NET exam will be conducted in the month of June 2013. Eligible candidates can apply for June 2013 by going through the procedure given below:
Eligibility Criteria for NET June 2013 :
i) Candidate must have scored at least 55% in Master’s degree or in its equivalent exam
ii) Candidates who will be appearing for the Master’s degree examination can also apply for the test. However they will only be considered if they score more than 55% in Master’s Degree.
iii) SC, ST, and Candidates with disability must score more than 50% in their Master’s degree or its equivalent exam.
iv) The candidates should appear in any subject for Post-graduation.
v) SC, ST and OBC candidates must attach the attested copies of cerrtificate along with their application form.
vi) To apply for JRF a candidate should not be more than 28 years of age as on 1st June 2013. Age Relaxation is up to 5 years for category candidates.
NOTE: There is no upper age limit for lectureship.
To appear for UGC NET a general category candidate has to pay examination fee of Rs 450/-. The examination fee for Backward Class (OBC) candidates is Rs 225/- and for SC, ST candidates is Rs 110/-
How to pay the Examination Fee
After the completion of the online form for NET June 2013, the website will generate a Bank Challan. Candidate must take out a print out of the Bank Challan and pay the examination fee at any SBI Bank Branch. Extra Bank charges are Rs 20/-.
The candidates are advised to check the payment status after two days of payment through Bank. If the payment is received by UGC, the candidate will be able to print out his Application form, Attendance slip and Admission Card.
There will be a three Papers in total all consisting of objective type questions.
Paper I and Paper II are of 100 Marks each and paper III is of 150 Marks.
General category Candidate must score at least 40% marks in Paper I & Paper II to qualify the exam.
