UGC NET June 2012 answer keys and question papers

what will be the cut off marks for ugc net 2012 as it clear that so many aspirants will be able to clear the hurdle because of MCQs pattern and there is no chance to portray once skills in their own subjects. Many aspirants may guess answer and it may be right.

Answer key for UGC-NET June-2012 officially published by UGC today on 14th August-2012. Students are requested to give feedback within 21st August-2012. As per answer key given by UGC I got 68/100 in Paper-I ( Y Series), 52/100 in Paper-II(Commerce) and 112/150 in Paper-III (Commerce). Pl check UGC website.

If UGC increase cut off marks based on up dated anwers key then i must say UGC will Lose its status because it it self is a knowledge production hose. Aspirants will lose their self confidence. UGC should very soon publish cut off marks.

Hi Sunitha gaaru,
As i know about the minimum qualified marks of UGC NET for General Category, is 40%, 40% & 50% in P-1, P-2 & P-3 respectively…. that means, one should get 40, 40 and 75 marks in consecutive papers.

So, i thought that you might have been cleared in this Exam.

Well…. UGC has asked for feedback so that if one differs with the answer of any question given by them in the answer key … they would come to know about that also will rethink on their answers… n will prepare final answer key after getting feedback from all… thus our score may differ after the preparation of final answer key is pubalished….secondly – this time around 33,000 people have appeared in UGC net …. so….. they may pass only a certain people who score highest.. so minimum qualifying criteria may not help this time i.e. paper I 40 %, paper II 40 % , paper 1 & 2 50 % average and paper III 50 % ( for general category).. final results will be displayed on ugc website … keep looking.. keep ur fingers crossed… )

I am from OBC Category and my Net Marks Are:-
Paper I- 48
Paper II- 54
Paper III- 72
For OBC category minimum qualifying marks for Paper I & II are = 35% each, i.e. 35 out of 100 in each paper. and for 3rd Paper 67.5% i.e. 68% required, and i got 72%.
Is there any chances to fail me? , I have applied in only for Lectureship.

WHY SO MUCH OF FUSS?
For the first time, examinees are puzzled over the publication of UGC NET June 2012 results and it is quite surprising that they should be, since for the first time UGC has published the answer keys, kept a feedback response system to increase transparency and accountability. Not only does it give scope for self-evaluation to the candidates but also raises hopes in their mind.
ü Will UGC be so ruthless to raise the cut-off criteria for qualifying lectureship after having published the same at the time of advertisement?
ü Then what is the need for mentioning the cut-off criteria at all, if it plans to toy with it?
The only logic many are giving is that since many have secured the basic cut-off, UGC will raise the cut-off marks.
ü If this is so, then is it that UGC is penalizing the candidates for passing?
Although there is a disclaimer that UGC will finally consider the qualifying criteria before the final publication of results for both JRF and Lectureship, a look at the past results will show that UGC has never changed the published cut-off criteria for lectureship only, after the exam. It has thought over the cut-off criteria for JRF and probably that is the reason why UGC never publishes the cut-off criteria for JRF before the exam. JRF number is more or less constant because it depends on funds but lectureship is not so.
Moreover qualifying NET doesn’t always assure a job in the college because the candidates qualifying NET have to pass through another stage – interview- where many do not fair well. Therefore UGC has nothing to gain in lessening the number of candidates qualifying for lectureship only. Therefore it can be hoped that UGC will not behave too discretionarily this time. If it has to make any modifications, that should be next time, like introducing negative marking or raising the cut off criteria.
Another important thing to note is this time UGC had already increased the cut-off criteria by 5 % for Paper 3 before the exam.
Moreover, while introducing MCQ, UGC must have had the farsightedness that more can pass.
ü If it raises the cut-off, then what difference will remain between those who qualified getting the minimum cut-off and those who couldn’t get that cut-off?
By constantly harping on the fact that UGC will raise the cut-off, the candidates are showing lack of confidence in themselves; it seems they are unsure of what they have got or they must be thinking that they didn’t deserve what they have got. There will be several human right issues in case UGC is too whimsical. Raising the cut-off involves raising it for all categories – General, SC/ST and OBC in a proportion that can land UGC in some problems.
Let us hope that UGC will be positive in its approach and feel happy that India is producing more clever students who are interested to come to academics.

Coz for the lecturership the passing criteria is fixed by the ugc.
But for the jrf, it is not decided yet, it will decide at the end before the declaration of result.
And the passing % for jrf is variable and depend on ugc fund.
So we cant predict on wat % merit will decide .
And this time no. Of student passing will be very high, coz paper 3 is objective and no negetive marking.

They shouldn’t bother about getting qualified this time.

dear frnd
as i have seen the Marks of previous 3 to 4 years for paper 1 and paper 2 and i have found that most of them had got just cut off or between 42 to 52. as we know that there is no change in paper 1 and paper 2 pattern and there were no negative marking in previous exams also so i assure that the cut off of paper 1 and paper 2 will be same like 40%, 40 % and 50%(including paper 1 and paper 2).
now for paper three how would be possible to make cut off 60% or 65%. i think for Lecturership it would be same like previous year and for jrf total score should be between 205-212.

Ya Shailesh I have written wrong marks there. In Paper 3 I got 72 Marks out of 150 i,e, 48%. And for Net in paper 3 Minimum marks required to pass is 50% for General Category, but I am belonging to OBC and for that 67.5 i.e. 68 marks required.
and i have applied only for lectureship.

sir…it is my humble request to concerned authority to tell me………what is the purpose behind introducing two categories 1. NET & 2. both(NET+JRF) for candidates………..Why dont they separate applications for NET and JRF rather than NET+JRF?……………..because every one would like to be considered his/her name for JRF……….that is another matter whether they qualify JRF or not.

dear all who is confused in between JRF and LS. LS is a eligibility test for appointment of lecturer/assistant professor in colleges but JRF is a fellowship for PHD. After PHD , Dr. title is awarded by respective authority or university. u can go for further SRF or Dilite Degree also. U can participate in different type of research paper . but same is not with LS.

I dont think there will be separate paper 3 cut off. The final JRF will depend on the aggregate score on 350. This year it may be 60% aggregrate total. So its paper I II =50% paper 3 50% and total 60%

As i feel, most of the candidates have got marks above the UGC Minimal Qualifying Criteria. Second on the website UGC has mentioned that they can change the critertia as desired by them. This seems there will be merit, if not then atmost 30000 candiates will clarify that Lecturership in comparison to past 10300 approx figure of 2011. Fingers are crossed, lets see what will happen.

Last year, they maintained the minimum qualifying marks(1+2=50% & 3=50%) for jrf but they selected candidates who scored above 54.5% in all three papers i.e.1+2+3>54.5%. So as per my opinion, this year, they will not change the minimum qualifying marks.But they will give NET qualified certificate to those secure good marks in all total of three papers. It may be above 200(1+2+3).Please rectify me if i am wrong.

UGC chairmen also revealed that UGC NET lectureship criteria will remain the same, but UGC NET JRF criteria will be revealed only on the result date.

There is lot of confusion in the UGC/NET 2012 june, because this time examination was of an objective mode. No one is clear about the qualifying marks. But thing is clear that this time lot of students have got more than 50% marks in aggregiate. It depends upon UGC, how they are going to evaluate.

U. G . C never discloses the cut of marks for each papers for the net exam ,why they keep hiding .I would like to say that when they published the key answer many candidates have been scored good marks ,but when the result declared they failed , and never said why it happened and what was the reason , so it is not the right way to change the cut of marks time to time , as some one feel as their interest ………kindly don’t play with the future youngsters ,

i have scored 214/350 but could not make through. m from electronics. out of 40332 candidates selected for net, only 120-130 belong to electronics. ugc should prepare subject wise criteria for ugc net. if it is not able to maintain criteria for different subjects, at least it needs to maintain criteria for similar subject like electronics , computer sciences. m very discouraged , by getting 60% , still not able to crack the net

partik i too am facing the same problem. mine too english and marks 64,66,72. ugc is not responding over phone. it seems to be a sheer case of negligence on the part of ugc. ugc must answer immediately for this otherwise everybody will loose faith in this institution or organisation. many students are groping in dark. ugc has left them helpless by not giving any plossible reason. it does not seem to be error as mentioned by ugc in the result notification. ugc can not be so irresponsible. if ugc can not handle such a huge result they should cancel this exam and take recourse to the old format of conducting examination. this mode is only showing ugc’s loop holes. god knows how they use to handle or correct our papers in the subjectie format. it may be possible that they use to give only half of the number for a question. this result has shown that a number of people can qualify net. i am astonished to find that students with comparitively good marks have failed to come in the result notification. ugc must act immediately and re load result with correction otherwise this result would be called fake. ugc should provide alink so that students can register their complaints. it can not make cut off as reason neither different cut off for different subjects because a look of the marks of the qualified and non qualified students will clear the picture.

UGC announces NET, JRF results 2012 over official website | Check now
New Delhi: UGC (University Grants Commission) has officially announced the June National Eligibility Test (NET) Results 2012 over the website.

NET (National Eligibility Test) has been organized for the selection of college and university lecturers. As per the updates, this time around 5, 71,627 candidates entered the examination hall on 24th June, 2012.

How to get UGC NET Results 2012?

Interested candidates need to visit the official UGC website i.e. http://ugcnetonline.in/Result_june2012.pdf and get connected with the results.

Report says, minimum qualifying standard for general category applicants was 65 per cent. While, for OBC candidate was 60 per cent and that for SC/ST followed by physically challenged candidate was 55 per cent.

Cutoff: P1 + P2 + P3 = 65% (GEN), 60% (OBC), 55% (SC/ST/PH)

I have cleared the exam. My subject is Commerce, Catogory: General.
I got 70 in Paper-I, 58 in Paper-II and 112 in Paper-III. Total 240 out of 350 i.e 68.57%
My Roll No is: 11080003

any one pls confirm about the calculation of aggregate percentage for questions not evaluated by UGC.
There are two options:
first: to give marks to all candidates for all such questions and calculate the overall percentage.
Second: reducing those marks from total marks. Ex: 350-8=342 (Management).
What they have opted?

for general it needs to be 65% aggregate… while for the individual papers it is the same as was before…

please chek d website. minimum marks have been raised too high this time!!

Gen: total of all 3 papers must round upto 65%
OBC: 60%
SC/ST: 55%

this is not fair.. approx 15% increase in the cut off for LS!!! my total is 60% GEn cat, English!! i cudnt make into the list!!

Setting cut off marks to OBC category as 60% is rediculous. The cut off may be like 60% to GC,55% to OBC and 50% to SC/ST categories, please fight againist the cut off criteria. How the UGC can put a common cut off to all, as the candidates are attempting different subjects some of the subjects may be easy and other subjects may be tuff, putting common cut off reflects the ignorancy of UGC.

I scored 72 P1, 76 P2 and 88 P3 total 238/350 which equals to 67.43% . i.e 2% more than required pass percentage, but still my roll no does not appear in the result for June 2012… what should be done any suggestions….?

today NET results for june 2012′s examinations r out , i have my OMR sheet’s carbon copy as proof , i appeared for commerce subject in june 2012 exam n when i check results my roll no is not there in eligible lecturership

i re-check my OMR sheet right now i checked my 32 questions in general paper , 25 questions in commerce paper no 2 and my 50 questions in commerce paper no 3 r correct then why my roll no is not there in result i m confused plz kindly let me know ,

UGC NET cheated with thousand candidates after getting core rupee fee because they have not decide previously about qualifying criteria. Because, always previous exam qualified on the clear of min, mark in the papers as decided by UGC but this year why they chanced criteria it is only eligibility text not directly selection for professorship . if people apply more than result should also came maximum, more than 7 lacs appeared but u clear only few hundred. This is injustice with the candidates, either u should decide the cute of marks will be up to 60% or 70% or you must maintain minimum qualifying marks as usual. So that candidate do not disturbed or confused. UGC should re decide about result and clear to all who had clear qualifying marks otherwise maximum candidate will go to court for justice.

but the ugc has changed the criteria for lecturer-ship. there is a clause in the advertisement stating that while announcing the the results the ugc can fix the criteria.

u hv lost this time just by 4 marks (2 questions) .Had ur marks been 224 instead to 220, u wud cleared the UGC NET for Lectureship. Cut off for gen. Category is 65 %. Its really a bad luck.

As per the revised answer keys i have secured the following marks:
Paper 1: 66
Paper 2: 64
Paper 3: 96
Total of paper 1 and 2 and 3= 226/350= 64.67%

However as per the final result released online i have not cleared neither NET due to the shortage of 1.5 marks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am very confused. what should I do now?

I HAD QUALIFIED IN ALL THE THREE DIFFERENT PAPERS BUT AGGREGATE MARK WAS LACKING BEHIND BY 0.09%. I’M A SC CANDIDATE AND THE QUALIFYING MARK WAS PAPER-I (35%), PAPER-II (35%), PAPER-III (40%) AND AGGREGATE (55%). BUT IN THE ABOVE EXAMINATION I HAD GOT PAPER-I (72%), PAPER-II (54%) , PAPER-III (43.84%) AND AGGREGATE (54.91%). THERE WAS NO NEGATIVE MARKING IS PRESENT IN THE ABOVE EXAMINATION. according to the old criteria the cut of mark, the mark i have scored is above the minimum criteria, whether i will be getting qualified or not, my marks for 1st paper is 44/100, 2nd paper 48/100 and 3rd paper 72/150 and overall is 46.6% in OBC category.
the minimum criteria for obc category according the UGC rule is 35/100 for 1st paper, 35/100 for 2nd paper and 68/150 for 3rd paper. overall it should be 45% (atleast should get 138/350) for OBC.
