CBSE Group Mathematical Olympiad in December 2012

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be going to conduct the Group Mathematical Olympiad in December 2012 which takes place every year to strengthen the knowledge, to identify the talent and improve the problem solving skills of young students. CBSE will be going to conduct the Group Mathematical Olympiad on 2nd December, 2012 at different centres in all over India. The Top 30 students who will qualify this Olympiad will then participate in Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) conducted by National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM). The Students of Class XII, XI, X and IX are eligible to participate in the competition. The School can only sponsor upto 5 Students for the competition.

NOTE: The Five students should be selected strictly on the basis of Screening Test conducted by the school itself.

Application Fee and Exam Duration :

The candidate will have to pay a sum of Rs 55 as an entry fee for this examination. The Fee of the Candidates should be forwarded by the Principal of Sponsoring School in favour of Demand Draft to the Principal of Venue school where the exam is to be held for that school depending upon the Examination centers issued by CBSE. The List of State coordinators (Venue School) appears the end of the folder. The Exam Duration is of 3 hours which will be started at 1:00 PM. The Last Date to send the fee with the desired information about the sponsored students to the State Coordinator is 10th October, 2012.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Exam consists of Topics such as Algebra, Geometry, Basic Number theory, Trignometry, Arithmetic etc. The Question Paper consists of 6-7 Questions of non-routine nature.
